Ladies and Gentlemen, we are back! First and foremost, I want to thank you all for taking the time out of your day/night to read this. I get to finally say this, AAAAND NEW! Lets jump into it!

The Return,

UFC 214 just ended and we got to see the return of Jon "Bones" Jones. It has been 15 months since Jones has stepped into the Octagon when he beat Ovince Saint Preux, and this fight between Jones and Daniel "DC" Comier has been 2 years in the making. Too bad, Jon Jones had a bad moment in his life, with the car accident and running from the scene of the crime to his failed drug test days before him and DC were supposed to fight at UFC 200 last July. Now DC has been on a tear beating the best at Light Heavyweight while Jones has been out. He has beaten Anthony "Rumble" Johnson twice, Alexander Gustafsson and Anderson Silva. Lets fast forward to this week/weekend. All week these to men have been verbally jabbing at each other, needing to be separated a couple of times during press conferences, media days and weigh-ins. The only think  I was saying to myself is this fight is not going to happen. Somehow, Someway this fight is going to get cancelled just like last July. When the Jon Jones, music hit and he started walking out, screaming, doing the "Ric Flair WHOOOO" I felt tingles in my body. I have been excited for this fight since it got announced and it was actually going to happen. DC comes out looking mentally prepared, calm, and was trash talking Jones during the fight. Last time these two men fought DC fought emotionally, came out throwing everything he could in that first couple rounds. This time around he stayed cool and collected, everything he threw was strategic. Jon on the other side came out firing on all cylinders, but DC looked good and was blocking a lot, engaging and trash talking during the fight. Skip to the 3rd round, the score looks pretty even 19-19 or each fighter won 1 round. DC looked good coming out in the 3rd round then Jones corner advised him that when he kicks DC ducks his head to the left, Jones catches DC with a head kick and it puts DC is a downfall of trying to escape, getting spun around and then hits the cage eventually the ref stops the fight. What a statement Jones made with this win. First time anyone has ever stopped DC in his fighting career. Jones was very humble, fell to his knees, and embraced the moment with tears in his eyes. He even gave credit where credit was due when speaking about DC, went over and kissed him on the neck since DC wouldn't face him.

End of a era?

With Jones beating DC for the second time, there will not be trilogy. Does this mean the "rivalry" of Jon Jones and Daniel Comier has come to an end? DC thinks so. This has to be one of the greatest rivalry we have ever seen. We are talking trash talking about each others lives, families, and fighting careers. We ware talking about media separations and face offs that lead to an all out brawl in a mall. We are talking up and downs of the light heavyweight division. These two men have been the center of all talks in this division since their first training camp leading up to UFC 182 in  early 2015. Even when DC won the vacant title to his wins defending the championship, Jon Jones name came up every time.

Greatest fighter ever

With this victory, overcoming what we call "life's bad decisions" Jon Jones has fought back and reclaimed his title. He was already considered one of the best fighters ever to step inside the octagon. Now that he has come back and reclaimed his spot as the best Light Heavyweight, can we say he is the greatest fighter ever? His one loss came in 2009 at the Ultimate Fighter Finale against Matt Hamill where Jones was disqualified for using illegal elbow strikes. He has really never been rocked to the point where we thought we would see him fall. So to that point, is he better than the likes of  Anderson Silva, Georges St-Pierre, Royce Gracie, and Demetrius Johnson? I think, even being as young as Jones is, I think it is safe to say we are seeing the return of the greatest fighter ever. Lets just hope Jon has completely changed and we will be able to see him more in the octagon.
